Fame And Glory heads Epsom Derby betting |
|
FAME AND GLORY landed Leopardstown's Derrinstown Stud Derby Trial easily to storm to the head of the betting market for The Epsom Derby. Trainer Aidan O'Brien's unbeaten colt swept the opposition aside in the Group 2 race to beat Mourayan by five lengths. It was a fast pace up front as two pacemakers, Liszt and Tarankali, set about their task with gusto. Fame And Glory's main market rival, Mourayan, was never happy with the break-neck pace but stayed on dourly into a distant second. Owner by John Magnier and ridden by Seamus Heffernan in the absence of number one jock Johnny Murtagh (on duty in France), connections confirmed that the next stop for Fame And Glory was the Epsom Derby.
