Curtain Call heads to Epsom after missing Derby trial

Luca Cumani knows how to win The Epsom Derby and his Curtain Call, second favourite in the betting for Epsom, will go straight for the big race.

Curtain Call should have run in the Lingfield Derby Trial at the weekend but Cumani was not prepared to risk his stable star on ground that he deemed too firm. It is likely that Curtain Call will now have a serious racecourse gallop instead.

Cumani said: "I had one of my staff walk the track and we thought that Lingfield was too firm. Curtain Call worked at home with Jamie Spencer on board instead. He went well and I expect I will arrange a racecourse workout for him. It is looking like the route now has to be straight to The Epsom Derby."
